Under the Big Top!

Welcome to the “Greatest Show on Earth!” No, not my house. Mark and I were able to take the kids to the circus last week. I have to say that even if the kids didn’t enjoy it, I sure did. The coolest thing was that before the show started they had a pre-show and we were able to go down to the ring and watch and participate with the performers. Very cool! We were also able to splurge and let them each pick out a souvenir. I was impressed with their choices…no big surprise, Liam wanted a sword. Ace actually picked out a clown nose and a program. Zoe got cotton candy that came with a clown hat and we picked up a dvd for Josiah (since they’ll all enjoy that and he didn’t really care). I do think the kids had a great time. And I actually got some decent pictures event hough the batteries were running down on the camera.

The dog trainer lady at the pre-show.

Silly Ace! He kept the nose on almost the entire time. It blinks too!

Liam’s sword and Dadyd with the boys. Don’t ya love his hat??

The motorcycle guys allowed the kids to sit on their bikes. They do that globe of death thingy that’s in the background, which is pretty amazing to watch!

Despite the look of horror on his face, he wanted to get on the bike (as a disclaimer: we don’t force our kids in to awkward picture taking, hence the reason you don’t see Santa and the kids on our site)

Dressing up as circus performers…some days it feels like we live in a circus!

For my sis…see daschunds can be trained (but apparently it’s very hard). They were so cute and she had a few very tiny ones.

And any guesses what Ceili Rain did during the entire performance (with a little break to eat)?

That’s our Sleeping Beauty.

Park Day

We met up with some friends a few weeks ago to play at the park. Ceili Rain (aka Sleeping Beauty) was asleep almost the whole time. The kids had fun. Mark was still off work, so I got to sit, relax and visit with my friends while the kids played and Mark took pictures.

I love this picture of our friend K-bug. Not sure if that’s a look of terror or excitement.

Sliding fun.

Not quite sure what she’s doing with her headband here.

Books Alive!

A couple of weeks ago, we took the kids to a celebration at our library called, Books Alive! They had a lot of transportation type activities in honor of a children’s author who was there. He wrote transportation type books. I’m not familiar with him and we never actually saw him but we did have a lot of fun. Oh, and Ceili Rain was sleeping (as usual) so she didn’t make the pics.

On the “choo choo” Behind me is a friend’s husband and their child…sitting with Zoe. Josiah’s our resident train fanatic and so, after he realized where he was, he was very excited.

No festival is complete without a little sand art.

Just some pictures of Ceili Rain

Ceili Rain’s first week pictures are almost done…we’re getting there…but I know the grandparents love to have them to show off. These are just some random pictures from the first few days.

Any questions what the kids think about her? As I’m typing this, Josiah is in my lap saying, “Ma me.” And trying to touch the screen.

One proud daddy. He absolutely dotes on her. God has truly blessed us with another girl to be raised up as a godly woman by Mark.

The Fam…boy, we’re a big crew!

Artist At Work

Warm weather beckoned us outside last week! It was absolutely beautiful without all the humidity. We all thoroughly enjoyed it. We took advantage of the warm weather to take the art easel outside and do a little creating.

The boys’ all shared one side of the easel.
Josiah in a messless outfit…wash and wear!

He took this painting thing very seriously.

Ta Da! They titled it, “Spiderman’s Clubhouse.”

Working AND posing for pictures….yes, folks, she’s that good!

And Zoe’s creation. I forgot to ask her the title.

Yummm…

About three weeks ago a friend who works at a school helped out with a cinnamon roll fundraiser. I love school cinnamon rolls…don’t know why but I do. Anyway, we ordered a dozen and then she came over with at least 10 pounds of dough all ready for cinnamon rolls. I didn’t have time to make any that day, so I split it between a friend and me and then froze it. I’ve never worked with frozen dough before so this was a big trial run.

This week, we pulled it out and defrosted it and made cinnamon rolls. Now, I could’ve made the healthy low sugar ones with honey…but I didn’t. Celebrating the fact that I have not gained over 50 pounds this pregnancy (not even close), I decided we’d make the good ol’ not good for you ones. I had help too!

Tracy, I thought you’d enjoy seeing what we came up with! They were actually quite large and I should have split the dough to make them smaller…but this was trial and error for me.

The end results were just as yummy and there are now 1 1/2 dozen sitting in the freezer waiting to be thawed, iced and eaten sometime this month, I’m sure.
