The Hunt is On

We met with some other homeschooling friends…and one not homeschooling who was having spring break…to hunt Easter eggs. The kids thoroughly enjoyed it and the moms love to sit and visit.

Here’s one kid who really enjoyed it. S is almost 15 months old and had her first taste of chocolate and a lollipop. Once she got the chocolate it was all over and she spent the rest of the day searching some out.

A’s shirt says, “My mommy makes milk, what’s your superpower?” Too cute!

This is just some of the kids. I think we counted 21 total in the room at one point waiting to hunt eggs.

Josiah enjoyed searching for the eggs and picking them up. I was surprised he got that in to it.

The teenagers/adults got to hunt eggs in tandem. One of the other adults thought this idea up!

More Happy Easter!

Some of these pictures are from church and some are on the tree. I think next year we will take pictures early so that we can get good moods and the dogwood tree blooming. Our fierce thunderstorm on Friday night knocked most of the blooms down. I’m not bias, but I do think I have some beautiful kids!

I didn’t put pictures of Ceili Rain up because they were the one month pictures in a previous post.

Happy Easter

After church on Sunday we took pictures outside of the church. There are a lot so I’m trying to break them up between posts. So, first up we have shots of the fam and the kids being kids ano

Yeah, Josiah was really tired so he didn’t take the best picts ever. Liam however, wants to say, “What up!?!”

Again, we this was the best we could do with Josiah passing exhausted tired.

We told them to cut loose after sitting still during the service. They willingly obliged.

My girls!

Not a bad picture for me just four weeks post baby.

Handsome daddy with sweet baby girl.

My little lady and my little man.

Papa had a secret that he had to share with them.

Back at home…we climb the dogwood tree. I think this will have to be a tradition.

Time to Dye

We succeeded in getting eggs dyed on Saturday. Josiah decided that two of them needed to be smashed and one we let him try out to eat. He’s not a big fan of hard-boiled eggs.

I thought the blurry around them was neat and artistic…even if it was a mistake.

Ace was a pro and hardly got any dye on him.

Zoe enjoyed it as well.

Zoe and I chose a glitter egg kit this year. The boys chose a camo one. Zoe’s eggs were pretty even if we got all the glitter everywhere…we sparkled!

Papa & Grandmere

Papa and Grandmere (Mark’s parents) came for a visit on Easter weekend. We were thrilled that they were able to visit us on such a special weekend. This was Papa’s first time to meet Ceili Rain. His mother was in the hospital when she was born and he couldn’t make it to see her until now (It’s been a hard month for them both). I think he was thrilled to meet her, love on her, and love on her brothers and sister too. Ceili Rain thought she would get to know Papa by getting a little choked and throwing up on him…everywhere. To her defense, she had/has a little cold and that is what caused the projectile.

Teaching Liam some acrobatics. He thought this was so much fun that on Sunday when we went outside he attempted it by himself…Thanks Papa! We’ll be calling you from the ER soon.

Meeting grandbaby #11.

Ceili Rain’s One Month Old!

Ceili Rain and I had a talk about how we’d celebrate her one month birthday. She said it wasn’t about her but about Jesus and so she wanted to celebrate on Easter. It was a great day worshipping the risen Jesus and spending time with family. Good choice sweet girl! After worship, we took her home and took pictures under my only fully blooming azalea bush…her request.

She’s now smiling and started that little trick on Thursday. Getting her to do it more than two or three times is not happening right now so pictures will probably come later in the month.

“Oh bother! Why am I here on the ground.”

Slowly creeping…sneaking…here comes a big brother!

No Whining

After the umpteenth potty trip avoiding bedtime and actually managing to use the bathroom each time, Mark was worn out with Liam.

Liam, however, was just getting warmed up. He was slowly getting dressed…very slowly getting dressed.

Mark leaned on the doorway and sighed a big sigh.

“Liam, please hurry up and get dressed.”

“I’m doing the best I can,” Liam responded. “But you keep whining!”

Our parenting is coming back at us already.

A Bunch of Characters

Zoe, Ace, and Liam played dress up this weekend and politely asked for a photo shoot! They positioned themselves and everything. Pretty impressive.

For those wondering, that is one of my old color guard (flag corp) uniforms…yeah, I kept them for this very purpose. I also have my old graduation robes.

I think the stained floor really fits with the scene of the sleeping princess…

And roaring dragon…pay no attention to the man in the back taking diapers to the washing machine.

Oh yeah, he’s tuff.

Brothers and Sisters

I make the kids sibling shirts for every birth. They’ve always been different. The only problem is that the iron on transfers usually start flaking after one wash. Anyways, I wanted to get a picture of their shirts before they flaked off completely or Ceili Rain outgrew hers. By the way, whoever is googling Ceili Rain thanks for visiting, I know this is not what you’re looking for…we like the band too, though.

The good shot…

The not too good shot…

Ceili Rain so enjoyed this photo shoot.
