After a long wait this morning for the doctor’s to make their rounds, we’re home! I’ll work on posting all the “girly” details of the labor and delivery. It was long but a lot easier than Josiah. And, no, I didn’t have an epidural and I eventually won’t regret it…just kidding, I don’t really now.
We could not access the internet in our room so that’s why I have posted until now.

OK, everyone, the news you’ve been waiting for all day….
Ceili Rain has arrived!
She is 8 lb., 5.6 oz., 20 1/2 inches long, lots of dark hair, and blue eyes.
And, of course, beautiful, like her mommy.
Speaking of her mommy, the nurses were all standing around as she labored giving her compliments and wishing that every patient was like her. I should have bought her a shirt with a big ‘S’ on the front. She was absolutely amazing.
OK…we’re progressing fast and Abbie is almost ready to push!
5 cm. & strong contractions.
This may be the last post I (Abbie) do. Dr. J came in about 1:40 and I was at 3-4 cm. He broke my water so maybe in the next four to five hours we’ll be holding our little girl. Contractions are picking up and getting closer. The lady next door who was induced just delivered! I guess I’m just destined to have long labors.
Please pray she progresses and quickly!
Dr. J came to see us around 9:30 and Abbie was 3cm & 50% effaced. We chose not to have the water broken yet. Still waiting on him to come back for a re-check.
So the waiting game continues. Please continue to pray for us.

I just got the pitocin started and contractions are already picking up. I’m at 2 to 3 cm. The current nurse thinks she’ll come before lunch…hehehe…we’ll see.
Feeling good and just waiting.
Mark has to stand up by the window to get internet connection so this should be interesting. I’ll post as I can and then let Mark take over!
I tried to come up with a clever title but failed…sorry.
When this posts (as I’m writing it the night before) we should be at the hospital getting set up to start the induction. If we can access it, we’ll be online and blogging live in a little while so stay tuned…if you don’t hear anything from us in an hour or so, then we can’t get internet and you’ll just have to wait until she’s born to hear anything! Sorry if that’s the case.
Today is not only going to be Ceili Rain’s birthday (I’m praying we don’t go into tomorrow) but it is also the day when Mark’s family and Mark and I will be remembering a very special person in his life, his grandmother. I asked Mark on Tuesday if he wanted to reschedule the induction when we found out the funeral was going to be today. He was pretty set with not rescheduling it. His reason being that we would be celebrating two dear lives…one coming into this world and one going on to heaven.
His grandmother that passed was “spunky” to say the least. I loved her out there personality and while she could seem a little strong minded…she loved her family dearly. I got to know his grandmother while we were dating and it was during this time that she began to lose her sight and her hearing was pretty well gone. However, her strong will and independence impressed me a lot. She also made beautiful doilies (I think crocheting them…however, I’m domestically challenged so forgive me if I’m wrong). I have several of her gifts around the house and feel very blessed to have these treasures. When she found out I loved purple roses, she was ecstatic when her green thumb produced one in her garden and lovingly shared a bloom with me. I have also been blessed with two gardenias from her garden…however long I can let them live. I am very grateful I was able to get to know his grandmother and love her.
So, while we are all praying for a safe/healthy labor and delivery of Ceili Rain please remember Mark and his family as they remember the life of his dear grandmother.
I had an ultrasound today to check the fluid levels around Ceili Rain. They’ve gone up thanks to me drinking about two bathtubs full of water this past week…and equally using the bathroom that much I believe! Praise God for this and for her doing good through all the stuff the sonographer looked at. Not sure what it was but I got to see Miss Ceili Rain a little more than last week. The kids weren’t as interested so she showed the screen to me. I love seeing my babies on that.
Liam kept remarking, “That’s so cool! That’s so cool!” He loved it and since she gave us three pictures, I let Liam have one and Ace too. As far as I know they’re taking a nap with them.
I’m also at 2 cm dilated which is good. Now it’s a wait and see if she’ll come before the scheduled induction or on the day of induction.
More prayers please! Thank you to all who are praying by the way.
1. Mark’s grandmother had to be admitted to the hospital with a severe infection. As a result, his mom is having to help take care of her and can’t be here right now. Please pray for his grandmother’s health first of all. Then for Mark’s mom and uncle’s strength and patience as they care for their mom. And then, that Mark’s mom will be able to see Ceili Rain not too long after she is born or even be here before she is born. We’re working now to cover the other kids during the labor and before and after so I am also praying that his mom does not worry too much over not being able to be here to help. God always provides and has always taken good care of us and our kids during labors and deliveries.
2. For Ceili Rain to come on her own without having to go through the induction.
3. Most importantly, that we have a safe and healthy delivery. More important than schedules and other stuff is that Ceili Rain is healthy and that I stay healthy throughout all of this!
