A Teaser
I have a cold right now…my children love to share germs.
Anyway, I needed to cut the boys’ hair and decided to jump in and do the all over cut with the clippers instead of the bowl cut they’ve had since I first cut their hair.
Gone is the bowl cut, here is the new super slim cut. It looks really cute but they look a lot older. I used my #7 guard on my clippers. Lots of hair and about an hour later, they’re done.
I can now cut two different styles of boys hair…actually three if you count getting gel and spiking it up (which I don’t think Mark would like too much). Yea me!
Wish I had a camera to show you all…but I don’t 😉
You’ll all have to wait until you see them in person or when the camera comes in (by the way for anyone interested, Mark chose a Panasonic Lumix something or other.).
The Case of the Meanies
Okay, this is a poop story, so if you need to skip it go ahead!
Ace was using the potty this morning and I was waiting on him to finish so I could brush his teeth. I was working on chores and he called me from the bathroom.
“Mama, come here. I got to tell you somthin'” (While he’s on the potty)
“Yes, Ace.”
“That was some mean poopy.”
“Oh yeah?”
“Yes ma’am. It was gonna beat me up.”
‘Nuff said.
Ace, the Cherub Warrior
Ace got fitted for his costume yesterday at ballet. I think I mentioned before that we don’t have to buy costumes but we do have to pay a performance fee which goes toward renting the facilities for the performance they are in.
Anyway, pre-ballet 1 students are Cherubs but Ace is a boy so he’s a Cherub Warrior. He was so funny. While the girls were all getting their costumes, he announces, “I don’t wear a dress, ‘cuz I’m a boy!” He looked “so, so handsome” as Zoe said.
I’m a little nervous now, because apparently, there will be one or possibly two boys on stage with Ace as cherub warriors. And Ace has announced that he is going to fight with his sword on stage (we’ve gotten past wanting to be the lead, now this). I tried to explain to him today that he would have a sword but he didn’t need to fight anyone because there were no mean guys on stage. Now, are you getting my drift??? Ace will have a sword on stage as will the other boys (who will be close to Ace’s age)…I’m sensing a nice little sparing match going on! Agghh! We’ll be asked never to come back…this should be interesting. I’ll be sure to get pictures should a battle erupt!
Because…
Mark took Ace out for some father/son time on Friday. Ace has attitude problems. He’s very negative and he can get in fits really easy. So, they had some heart to heart time. Mark continued to talk to him about why he should obey mommy & daddy and that he have to discipline him when he doesn’t. He talked to him about using his noodle to think things through. So, on the way home Mark asked him why we told him to obey us.
“Because you wuv me.”
Mark’s heart melted!
Yes, they are all mine!
Funny things that happened when we went out to eat tonight at Stevi B’s (I know it’s not fancy food but it’s decent and cheap!).
Liam dropped a piece of pizza on the floor.
“Uh oh,” he says, “‘unny, come ‘ere.” Translation: Liam was calling for Sunny to come and eat her food…ahhh, family secrets revealed. We use our dog for a vacuum cleaner!
Ace thought that cherry dessert pizza would taste good in ranch dressing. He liked it, I gagged.
After we ate, they each got a $1 to play games in the very little arcade. Zoe played the race car game all by herself for the first time and got last place. Mark played and Zoe was watching him. He placed 3rd. Zoe’s comment: “Wow! Daddy you only got 3. I beat you. I got more than you!”
Ahhh, my life. Not a lot of comments on my hands being full but one mom stopped and asked me what I would recommend baby equipment wise. She was expecting her second and her first one was 9 years old. “Well, ma’am, if you would just read my blog…” I actually gave her some musts and then she made a comment about how well I was doing with them. They didn’t see me snap at them when we got to the restaurant.
Meet the Newest Character
See, you all thought I was pregnant again…hehehe…get your math straight. My kids are 17 to 19 months apart, so it’s when they’re 8 to 10 months old that I get pregnant. I still got another month.
This week we are studying fish. We took a trip to a local fish store to learn about the different kind of fish and being the insane woman I am, got a Beta fish. We figured if we could keep this one alive, then we’ll look at getting some “real” fish in a “real” aquarium. Looks like Liam’s lovin’ it to death! Poor fishy.
Anyway, he seems really bored but when I went to check on him tonight he seemed to perk up when I looked at him. Can’t believe I was talking to a fish. I’ve lost my mind!
And another thing, why do they keep poisonous fish in an OPEN tank toddler level! Eeek! Luckily, Liam had already stuck his hand in an open tank on the other side so I had a firm grip on it and I also yelled at Zoe and Ace to stay away.
Neat Photography and Oh No What Happened to the Moon
The following was done with our rinky dink digital camera and my very smart engineering husband who figured out how to do this…I just played with the sparklers!
This is supposed to be a heart, but the camera got started a second late and our kids ran out of sparklers…no fair!
When we talked about planets a couple of weeks ago, we (mainly I) inflated all the planets we had received as gifts and we (mainly Mark) hung them up in our playroom/schoolroom/office area). Before we hung them up, though, we had to have a little fun with them.
It’s late, I’m extremely tired (Josiah no sleep this morning or late this afternoon), I’m goofy, and we’ve got MOPS tomorrow. More later.
