We are home! We are settled and Malachi is getting used to the noises in our house…because we have just a few. I’m on rest for all of this week and praying I can get up and go a bit by next week. For now, Mark is Mr. Mom and Dad. And I need to get him in his Super man cape once again.
And we are totally in love. All of us are. I watched with sheer joy as the kids passed around a sleeping Malachi. They each showed such love and care for their youngest brother and it made this mama’s heart swell with pride. We have a glider and ottoman in our room. There’s not room to actually use the ottoman as a foot rest so I have it beside the glider and more often than not, if I’m nursing Malachi in the glider, Ceili Rain is sitting beside me talking or asking questions. Josiah loves to quietly come in the room and watch Malachi sleep.
We took him to a newborn well check today. When we left the hospital, he weighed 8 lbs 13 oz. That was Monday morning. Today, Tuesday morning, when they weighed him, he was 9 lbs. 7 oz. I believe home agrees with him.
And it does with his mommy too.
I’m working on his birth story and my opinions about c-sections…so they’ll be up in the next day or two. I’m fighting an infection (yet another side effect to c-sections…but praising God for antibiotics), so that might slow me down a bit.
